Para-para-paradise

admit it. you wish you were me. and you wish you had had a late night dance under the stars to this song.

or maybe a song of your choice, but it was with the same guy {no maybe not exactly the same guy, because that'd be weird} but he was your image of prince charming. like this boy is to me. my knight. my hero. my friend...best friend.

who knows where the wind will blow us but this i know.

we will always be just that. friends.

saturday night was wonderful. a masquerade dance? not going to lie, it was magical. and the fact that it was stag? even better.

it may have ended on a song that cut like a knife in my chest but he made it all better. he took me far away and we danced under the stars to a new song, we made new memories, we lived in our own moment.

it was paradise.

{should've known.}

lame.

i just spent 13 and a half hours at school. early morning seminary, school, after school fiddler practice until six and then innovators concert dress rehearsal from seven till eight-thirty. i'm dead. guess what, i have like three things due tomorrow and 100 pages to read in a book i hate. and on top of all that, stress makes me emotional and crabby. then again on top of that i have to think about the halloween dance now...someone couldn't take their date and my friends were trying to convince me to take him (girl's choice dance) and although my conscience screams to just do it, i'm exhausted, extremely shy...and poor.

can anyone say stressed much? and since i have a vendetta against facebook life details i am pouring this out to you. whoever you are. pity me. for 1 minute. starting now.

okay. done. now i have to actually finish the homework. love you all. wish me luck. i very well might have a nervous breakdown tonight. pray for me. all this stress is making me very emotional and making me feel very inadequate and...well...my...weaknesses very strongly.

luckily {and actually this probably has nothing to do with luck, looking up} i have the very best group of friends i possibly could have right now. period. love you all. without you...i don't know where i would be right now.

Good night

{post script} - probably won't be writing for a while {end of term and all...} but i've got some really nice posts on schedule...i hope you like them.

{post post script} if ever you see me, don't hesitate to give me a hug. all hugs are appreciated.

homecoming, among other things...

emotion. it's a confusing idea. the fact that a feeling can go coursing around inside of you and you can decide to be either completely in control of it or completely...not.

i thought i chose to be in control. i lost control. then i lost interest. then i gained it again. then i got distracted. then i lost interest. yah, am i confusing anyone else yet? the fact that i know this is a public blog prevents me from going into...THAT detail, but the fact that i owe the few readers that i have an amazingly boring update on my life, this is it.

HOMECOMING: was amazing. charlie picked me up after i spent an hour and a half figuring out how to do my own hair since curling it didn't work. he gave me a beautiful corsage. we went to craig's house where his sister made a delicious meal where i actually ate the salad and enjoyed it (: {for my closest of friends, this is a big deal because you all know i've never been fond of salad greens...} and then we talked. our entertainment was rachel and landon. they really were hilarious. collin didn't tighten his tie all the way and charlie was a complete gentleman and opened and closed all my doors, etc. my dress looked pretty and i loved the flowy-ish skirt. it was lavender {try explaining the difference of lavender and purple to a boy...hm...it's a fun one, trust me.} also, my date has eyeliner girls...i was worried too. just kidding, it was only a joke. and he really didn't crash his car into the dollar store (:

then we {or the girls...really...} had a bathroom break, all of us talked about The Game in the living room and then we left for the dance. when we got there we took pictures {which i hope i'll be able to post when i get them}, then we went and danced - charlie danced every single slow song with me, even though i told him he could dance it with the girl he wanted to ask to homecoming...he's a gentleman that way. i'm thankful for it (: oh and i saw seth there with his date too, although other than that i didn't see many people outside of our group that i recognized. i saw Allie too though, and Paige from a distance.

Seth makes a new vest that matches his date's dress {or his mom makes it, not sure} every time there is a formal dance. i think that is so neat (: he's kind of one of those people who i feel safe around no matter what, i don't worry about what he'll think of me; sometimes i wonder with the others...and sometimes i really don't care. moving on..

then after the dance we went singing to our cars and headed to landon's sister and brother-in-law's house where we played Outburst Remix, girls against boys and it was really really fun. then charlie and craig dropped craig's date off, then me - and charlie gave me a hug. then it was done. it was brilliant fun (: and it makes me think, maybe i do want to ask a boy on one of the girl's choice dances but who knows...who knows...

and now for the awkward story...

the other day, it was friday in fact, i was early ish to AP Stats and so was this other guy. he and i kind of flirt, we have this hug we do and it's really funny. but he kind of started acting strange. he kind of looks at me during class sometimes, and then on friday when we were both early he and i were in the back of the room near the calendar and we were pushing our hands against each others and he kind of got me up against the wall almost. before i felt like i could be in a really awkward situation i broke up the contact and walked away, but something just felt strange after that. i like his hugs, a LOT...but is it worth me having to have to question what's going on in his head? i mean...i don't think of him like that at all...anyway.

and then there's that one friend who always makes me smile...who always makes me wonder what in the world i'm saying because i feel like i could just...float away in those brown eyes... and then i remember madison and i realize that i can't let myself fall for anyone because not only would that ruin both friendships but it would also get very dangerous what with all the other girls who i know have a soft spot for the horrible little flirt.

but let's just say, the fact that he'll walk me to my class occasionally, the fact that he likes talking to me as much as i do to him, the fact that i could wear as tall of heels as i could please and still be shorter than him...the fact that we both have birthmarks on our right wrists, the strong arms that lift me up off the ground after lunch sometimes, the simplicity he gives into his appearance, the fact we can have 2 hr long conversations about everything from politics to motorcycles, his strong laugh...and the fact that he can sing...? and how he likes older movies...and how today i saw him walk my my classroom door twice and caught him looking at me...maybe...

of course i could always be completely wrong and i'm flattering myself but...you know.

and if i weren't completely set on not having any kind of attachments this year, i might have fallen for him. might have. but y'know, i wont.

old man grocery cart.

y'know those old person grocery scooters at wal-mart? this video is from prom night my junior year...last year (: haha. it seems like...so so long ago. weird huh? anyway - thanks austin for getting this to me! means a lot. {Post script} for those who don't know - i'm the one in the blue dress, madison was my boyfriend and he's the one driving the cart. chelsea is the other girl and austin was recording. we had the best group. after this video was ended we continued to drive all the way to the front of wal-mart where madison didn't just lift me out, but carried me wedding-style into the store.

imagine that girls (: i'm a romantic at heart. i sighed too.

anyway - hope you enjoy my trip down memory lane. when austin first sent it to me i like...couldn't stop watching it, just kept pushing replay (:

Night,

it's coming...

yes, that's right. homecoming.

today i got my dress. it's purple. it's also not really mine, i'm borrowing it from megan. i got new shoes though. they are beautiful. and i'm also exhausted.

who would have thought that kaytlyn had a shoe fetish? i never thought the day would come when i saw her fawning over...shoes. and hear her tell me that she has nearly 20 pairs {i barely have...five?} yah, seriously. this girl is rougher than me and yet she bought the same pair of shiny satin shoes i did, for one dress. it's really kind of a funny thought, to me at least.

anyhow. i got shoes, a dress, a nifty little purse thingy and we're celebrating my brother's birthday tomorrow. got to talk to a couple friends today. spent some time with kaytlyn today...that was awesome, i've really missed her (:

i've had some worries about an old friend...not sure what to do about it though, she won't talk to me and her brother sounds concerned to. hopefully someday she'll know that i love and care for her, i don't always agree with where she's going in life, but i love her.

yup...that's all that's been on my mind. love you all and

goodnight,

kaylla

{post script:} no pictures because you're going to have to wait till after homecoming...when the real stuff is all done and whatnot. ;P

i have no reasonable title for this post so i'm going to say: Hugs and School (:

i got my hug today. it was perfect too. lets just say, it was his birthday today and i used that as an excuse. he totally fit my description of the perfect hug too: taller than me, strong, but gentle, not too short of a hug {in fact he held it longer than i expected}, and comfortable. i like his hugs i've decided.

in fact, i got three hugs today. i stepped forward and demanded some. i saw a friend give one to one of his guy-friends, haha that was funnily awkward so i told him he had to give me one, good thing he didn't complain otherwise that would have been awkward. then i gave amaya a hug because we gave hugs all around.

in all it was just a good day.

senior sunrise breakfast was great. i really like being with amaya's group of friends and the discussions we have, as long as we have alex for "comic relief" (: too bad i didn't get my eggs. {sigh} (: haha

today in singers choir we went to go sing happy birthday to one of the administrators and it was our goal to be REALLY good in the hallways. so we pretended to be little kids folding their arms really tight and walking in a straight line. it was so much fun. amaya and i had a blast. we sang our version of happy birthday {which if i may say so myself....ROCKS} and then on the way back amaya and i walked back just really playing up the toddler trying to behave thing, it was so much fun we could hardly stop laughing. it was THE BEST. probably going to be one of my favorite memories, i'm still smiling (:

AP Lit was good, i just love that class, i always leave feeling like i've learned some more and just over all - happy.

Lunch was good too, because that was when i got my hug (: that really did just...make my day. ack. gah. MmHm...

then my TA in the Library is great. i love mrs. rawle, she rocks. she even let me take a nap on the couch today. we rarely have very much to do so i always have time to finish any last minute homework and then sit and read if i want to. love it. oh and we saw this creepy oompa-loompa today {someone answering Homecoming} it was hilarious. Emily and Ben, the other TAs are pretty cool too. I like them (:

AP Stats, still confusing and i'm pretty sure i did really...really bad on my quiz but i still love the teacher. she's really nice. i just have to get up the courage to ask my questions and...know what my questions are...because i really am having a hard time even knowing what i'm not getting. which is weird for me really. but i'll get it, eventually.

anyway - so it was a brilliant day. still no pictures...gah, i just gotta remember one of these days!

lots of love, missing all my old friends but hopefully i'll see some people tomorrow at the dance at AHS...if i can get there that is. anywho. love you, bye.

{post script} God works in mysterious ways. tender mercies...a LOT today, remind me to tell you about the internet story if you want to hear it (: it...it was great...to say the least. at least to me.
