Brothers

I have three older brothers: Cameron (26-27 in Sept), Aaron (25) and Jordon (21). I swear I couldn't ask for anything better, all of them seriously make my life so amazing! When I'm with any one of them, I feel so happy it's ridiculous. Yesterday was Father's day so Cameron and Aaron (along with his wife Meg) came over and we had a blast (Jordon obviously couldn't come-he's in Texas). We went to go see the house, I took a video of the house and tried to put it on here, but it failed - sorry. Walking through the house, talking to them both I just know that I will always have a place to go - whether I'm in the wrong or if I'm hurt - whatever it is, I always have someone to talk to.

Then we came back home and had dinner, which is always an adventure - especially if those two boys are sitting next to each other, stealing each other's food and fooling around like they've never grown up past 5 and 7 yrs old.

Aaron is so straightforward, if he doesn't like someone or thinks something, he says it. He doesn't really think before he talks. I told him a story about my friend and the first thing he asks is not anything to do with the story, he asks me if this is the friend with the gimpy ears. *sigh... always the big tease.

After dinner they started a discussion on what professions Left handed people should and shouldn't be allowed into, even though it's not quite a disability. They talked about knitting and my mom explained how much harder it is for left-handed people to learn than right-handed because more books are written for right-handed people. I made the comment that they shouldn't be teachers because they're always blocking the board (my mom is left-handed and was a teacher, that's how I know) we all laughed at that because we know it's really not that big of a deal. They listed other professions, then they started talking about how Elder Nelson of the twelve is left handed, they argued about that, whether he was or wasn't; Aaron stated that he'd seen him...in the grocery store :P picking up carrots or whatever with a certain hand and then Cameron flings at him that he's seen him write a letter. on the board. in a classroom. haha Cameron - sometimes he has to back-peddle, I love it

They are also competitive about height! Although Cameron is older, he's smaller and shorter. We were in my parents bedroom and by the bathroom, because they were weighing themselves (can't remember why...) and they ask me "Who is taller?" from my angle it looked like Aaron was definitely a good 3 inches taller, but when they stood straight next to each other I realized that it was only about a difference of 1 inch. Cameron disowned me. :)

Then we went for a Sunday walk (a family tradition, walk off the food and get Jack outside - two birds w/ one stone) and Cameron and I had a good talk about dating. Cameron had found out just that day from Aaron that Madison and I had broken up, and since Cameron and Becca have broken up - we were quite the sibling pair. I asked him what he would do if I dated a guy with a bullet bike and a goatee. He said he wouldn't care as long as he wore a helmet and offered me one as well- and NEVER did tricks while I was on it. My dad turned around briefly and reprimanded me. He is not quite in favor of the bullet bike idea. ;) Then Cameron asked me what I would do if he dated a girl with purple hair and swore occasionally but only in polite company. I told him I wouldn't care WHAT she did with her life honestly and who he dated, as long as she had a temple recommend. I'm glad he said that that was a given :) Then we talked about swearing and "polite company" what that means, and we agreed that swearing really isn't a good thing at all - but there is a common person that we both admire very much, who swears occasionally. Sometimes good people aren't perfect. Like how my brother Aaron drinks Pepsi etc.

Then Aaron and Cameron started joking about Cameron having a kid already, the story now is that he fell in love with an illegal immigrant, and they had a kid, but when she realized Cameron wasn't going to marry her and get her a green card - she left him and took their kid with them. The family is disappointed: we all wanted to see what a mexican version of Cameron would look like ;)

When the time came around for us to take Cameron back home (his car is busted, and he hasn't been able to buy another one yet so we were his ride), I can't remember what I said but I was teasing him (probably something about him being shorter than Aaron) and he said something that made me really laugh. He said "This is the sound of my knee thinking about flying into your gut." His face was completely straight. I loved it.

Also! I told both of them, don't give me big hugs cuz my sunburn really REALLY hurts. Before dinner they had both "accidentally" slapped me, touched me roughly in some way. Uhhgg...it hurt so bad. Gotta love brothers.

Growing up I remember Cameron wrestling me to the ground a lot. Aaron was always a tease, and smart and someone to go for with school help. Cameron was always easy to talk to - just very chill, and Jordon :) Jordon was always good to just know that someone appreciated my artistic sides, and someone I know will always love me just no matter what. I'm really excited for him to come home in 6 months approx.

Aaron and Cameron ran Ragnar...I know right!? They are such amazing guys. Really fit. Haha and Aaron has a runner's tan. I told him about my biker's tan (from my shorts) and he laughed. Cameron told me I should wear a helmet :P (where's the fun in that?)

They've also both been really trying to help Lilly and I decide what we want to do with our lives, college, etc. Cameron asked me where I wanted to go to college. At first I'm thinking USU, then maybe BYU Idaho (although Aaron says there are more sketchy Mormons there) all I know is that I don't really want to stay in state and that I DEFINITELY do not want to go to BYU and be married my freshman year. That would stink.

When Jordon comes back home we're thinking about doing a small weekend vacation to Flaming Gorge - a cabin there that Meg's family rents out. That'll be a lot of fun :) I'm really excited.

I just...really love my brothers. Slacklining with them, talking to them, teasing around, Aaron calling me just to talk, Cameron and my fake karate battles, me trying to teach Jordon how to play on the piano...I really love them :) I have an awesome family. When we're all together, I swear, there is no happier place to be. No wonder families were meant to be forever.

PS - there should have been a ton of pictures in this post - but my computer doesn't have them - go figure - so I'll probably update this blog post after I get some decent pictures. ;)
