Laughter
There's a game we always play at Girl's Camp - well more of just a fun pastime, and we call it Your Real Laugh. The girl whose laugh we're about to test lies down flat on her back and crosses her arms across her chest. She breathes in and then as she breathes out the other girl pushes down on the crossed spot. The resulting laugh usually is NOTHING like the laugh that you're used to hearing. For instance; once there was this girl who was TOTALLY shy, little miss "nobody but somebody" and she had one of the loudest laughs and funniest I'd ever heard!
What is it about a laugh that makes a whole day seem 10x brighter? Or a smile? There are some people specifically who if you hear them laugh or see them smile you CAN NOT help but do the same!
I was at church one Sunday and as a YW's group we were congregating out in the hall and there was a father who was holding his new baby boy (such cute red hair!) as the baby cried itself red in the face, but for the weirdest reason it looked at me and literally as quickly as you could snap your fingers it became quiet. I smiled at that baby and it literally stopped crying and immediately started smiling! I couldn't help but nearly melt to the floor it made me so happy!
Another time, my neighbors in my old neighborhood, their youngest girl just wandered across the street and started raking our fall leaves and jumping in them (we had big maple trees - the one right in front of my window was the biggest) and she was just laughing and smiling and it was just so adorable!
Then walking down the hall I hear Ben Patch's laugh occasionally. Once you hear that laugh you'll never not be able to laugh when he does - it's infectious! Then there are several peoples' smiles who I find VERY contagious! Kelsey's, Kaytlyn's, Madison's, McKell's, Mr. Haymond's! What is so magical about these expressions of happyness!?
I love it :) I really just felt like writing that. Happy Halloween Eve!
