i'm in love with old films.

i've found myself singing songs from old movies, re-watching scenes via youtube, all that fun stuff and i realized...i really love these kinds of movies. you don't have to worry if there's going to be an innapropriate scene, the acting is just as superb and even though there are no special effects...they used masterful techniques to create realistic scenarios. i've commented before that movies these days have way too many special effects and that the plot lines suffer from it horribly.

as children these movies were the ones that brought those beautiful fantasies into our imaginations. why have we stopped watching them and replaced them with so much listless, action-packed, inappropriate for youth, junk?

let's face it...there is no such thing as the Avengers or Harry Potter or any of those other high quality film characters in real life. but how many times has a love been challenged by disabilities, distance and time?

An Affair to Remember

young girls always dream of those dances, finding that one man who will love and cherish her. it's the classic Cinderella story...with a twist. we all want a twist in our story, at least i know that i've wanted it.

Slipper and the Rose

and a classic, historical romance. there is nothing better than a love created by passion and resolved by love in the face of war and betrayal, blood and pain. have you never wanted to find that the one who rescued you was also the one who you have loved all along?

The Scarlet Pimpernel

these kinds of movies show that mankind has something deeper within themselves, that people can trust one another, love one another, that there are people out there who aren't hopeless. how could a world be hopeless with these kinds of movies available?

i know that i love them, and probably always will...and will have them in my collection of family movies once i am married.

hope you enjoy.
