love you, always

i'm keeping my mom company while she babysits my niece, Halle, right now. she is usually quite the sweetheart but she has been crying...from basically the second her parents left until now while my mom is putting her to sleep.

but she's still so wonderful, and absolutely beautiful.

today i was sitting on the floor holding her while she was crying, trying to calm her poor frustrated hiccuping little body when something unexpected happened. the glass bowl on the light fixture fell and shattered, not two feet from where i was sitting. i was in complete shock and Halle began crying {if it's even possible} harder. i picked her up and slowly walked away from the danger zone and went to lay her down to brush off any glass.

there wasn't any.

and i think that was a tender mercy. sure it doesn't mean the world is saved and we're all going to heaven {too bad} but we had no glass on us and we were okay.

i mean...what if i'd sat down with her two feet in the other direction?

what if.

i'm so thankful though, the Lord is tenderly blessing me, my friend and Halle tonight. he's answering my prayers and although it's going to be a rough night...it's worth it.
