It's interesting what Google brings up when you type in the characteristics of "Tall Dark and Handsome". Two words - Batman and Superman. It was kind of funny. :) Especially seeing as I'm not really a fan of both but watched Batman Begins today. Just interesting, you didn't really need to know all of that but what the heck. ;)
So . . . I mentioned like two posts ago that I wanted to explain my ideal romance. If I didn't say it in so many words I apologize - that is what I meant.
Strangely . . . maybe not so strangely - I see my story as something very similar to Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Fitzwillian Darcy. But there are two scenarios and I can never decide between them. But the commonality? I don't like him right away - crush wise and stuff like that. It's kind of like my safeguard against crushes that I do have, if I liked the guy right off then it's probably not him. No such thing as "love at first sight" - oh! but not that I don't believe in that for other people because I know a story where that actually happened - but not for me. Sorry. :) I prefer the Pride and Prejudice approach.
I know that by writing this I could very well be jinxing myself but . . . I guess we'll see what happens when it happens eh? Yirp.

So. Once upon a time, there was a girl that went to a private school in the U.S. She was the perfect mix of tomboy and girly-girl, T-shirts and flipflops, mud and makeup (though mostly mud) ;) and she loved to read, and play the piano and was rather creative if I must say so myself. She had a quick wit as well - she loved Math and organizing things (unless it was her room that she shared with her older sister) and she was a very inexperienced cook though she would learn in time. She had potential for a LOT of things. She loved kids and had been a nanny for 3 years already before she turned 16 and also worked at a job very involved with kids. But one main focus in her life was music. She adored it. She couldn't play any instrument well but she loved how it coursed and fell and sang to her heartstrings. Anyway - her Junior School year was soon to start. It was that day that you go and find all your classes and what younger kids called "Meet the Teacher" day. She loved this day, she was also excited to see all her friends that she had missed over the summer as she always did. As far as she could tell she had no enemies, no hard feelings only regrets that some of her friends may not be back this year - that saddened her a lot. But life will go on, and she knew that the Lord will provide opportunities for her friends to find happiness wherever they were.
So she walked down the High School hallway . . . which after a whole summertime seemed very very long again. She first found her locker, after hesitating by her old one - thrilled by the old memories and the promise of new ones. She heard familiar voices through the doorways and smiled at the laughs, already feeling the promise of a spectacular year. No matter what happened - this year would be beautiful, because she would be surrounded by friends and people who loved her and because things had finally changed for the better and because . . . she would make it so.
So she closed her locker - satisfied that she knew the combination and walked to her new Home Room classroom for her Junior year. She stood and talked with her friends and laughed and spent almost an hour just chatting and laughing and enjoying her friends and seeing an occasional new face.
After her friends had left and she was waiting for her mom to stop talking to her friends (instinctively the girl knew that this was going to take forever) so she decided to talk and maybe tease her "new" home room teacher some more. She loved her teacher, as he was like the close uncle that she'd never had in any of her real family before. Second only to her mom and dad she trusted him.
But he wasn't in his classroom. She was unfazed though and just sat in his rocking chair near the back windows, waiting for him to come back (she knew he was still there because his light was still on). She got bored and looked at his books; she had organized them for him and as she admitted to herself they looked very nice and neat.
Then she heard footsteps coming down the hallway - she recognized Mr. Haymond's voice but not the male voice that sounded like he was carrying a conversation with.
Mr. Haymond stepped into his classroom and as usual called the girl his favorite Kaylla and then suddenly turned around to introduce her to an unexpected arrival, a new student. He was tall - maybe even as tall as Michael but definitely not as tall as Ben, he had dark hair as well and his eyes were the bluest blue she had ever seen. Of course she was instantly shy but as she had come to talk to Mr. Haymond she wasn't about to leave, especially since she had nowhere else to go.
But then who should come to the doorway but her mom. They had to go and so she gave her favorite teacher a brief hug and then said goodbye to the stranger whose name she'd already forgotten. He hadn't made a big impression on her anyway; except for his slightly prideful expression . . .
So she left. Of course she planned on coming back later in that week, she'd earlier promised Mr. Haymond to type some more stuff up for him . . . she was so bad at remembering these things though but this time she would.
She came the next day actually - a Friday. She walked past the math room where she briefly saw a couple of students taking a math assessment test. She was so glad she didn't have to worry about that this year - she knew exactly where she would be for math. :) It flickered across her mind that that same boy was in the room, but as quickly as it had come - it was gone. Of course she thought he was kind of handsome and oh those little girl thoughts but she was determined not to be caught up in that this school year. She really is. Was - will be. :)
Then she was helping Mr. Haymond. Girl's soccer tryouts were over in a short while and she came out into the hall to talk to some girls, a couple saying that she should have tried out while she thought in her mind "yeah right, I'm not very good anymore haha" and seeing a new face - one of the girls that she didn't recognize walked toward the boy who had come out of the math-room, apparently finished with his assessment. The girl then in the heat of impressing her new friends called to him (I suppose he's her brother) if he had found any girls he liked, looking directly at the girl who had come out of the other classroom and he looking humorously but still rudely at her as well and saying bluntly "No." The girl who had come to help quickly turned around, not wanting anyone to see her hurt and finished her day working and helping Mr. Haymond. She really was done with boys and their bratty brainwash jokes and tricks and unseeing unfeeling remarks.
The girl couldn't wait until the first day of school when she could pull her own witty remark on him, to snub him as he'd so easily snubbed her. She wasn't usually fazed by boys to this degree but apparently he had supposed right that she had been attracted to him. Not anymore - her type of boy wasn't classified under "Jerk". :)
So she waited for the first day of school - forgetting briefly of the coming duel. Excitement poured through her. She could hardly wait. She had her first outfit already picked out, how she would do her hair decided upon, what she would eat, who she would eat with and where and then . . . after school she would finish her homework RIGHT away, etc. etc.
Monday came. She walked in the doorway of her classroom. There was a gaggle of girls talking and hurriedly whispering and glancing at the handsome and tall new kid. The girl took her chance where she saw it. She sidled in and told about what had happened - how he and the other girl had snubbed her. They took it exactly how she wanted them to. (Her conscience was briefly pricked but she knew that the girls would be attracted and like him anyway - she'd apologize later).
Second class. Ballroom. She was horrified that he was walking in the same direction as herself. What would she do if he asked to dance with her? She wish she could say no but Mrs. Mullen would never like that. She'd hate the girl for the rest of the school year. ;) So the girl cautiously made her way to the room as far from him as possible. Of course Mrs. Mullen didn't hesitate; partner up was hardly out of her mouth before the bell stopped ringing. Mrs. Mullen told him to take the girl he'd snubbed (of course she didn't know there was conflict so we'll forgive her) ;) - she was a good enough dancer for a starter at least. He ignored her and chose some other girl, but the girl who had been suggested didn't care. She was saved the trouble - it only made her more prejudiced toward him and his high attitude. He didn't appear to like it there at the school anyway. Mr. Haymond seemed to like him and he fit in well but he still acted like a weirdo. That was enough for the girl not to like him for now.
The rest of the day was of course - uneventful and normal for a first day of school. The rest of the week was as it should be, uneventful and full of teasing from one of her friends who knew the girl liked tall and dark guys (she had only told her closest friend, her sister and her mom about how he'd been so rude - not just those two times but multiple other little times).
That Thursday at school there would be a sort of political, educational meeting for anyone who wanted to come - she decided to go knowing that few other students went. He was there. She had ridden her bike there with her friend who had been with her at her house and the girl saw him drive up, just as he saw her ride up. It made it awkward especially when they reached the front door at the same time, but he was still a gentleman in opening the door for them. The girl excused that though, knowing how he really didn't like her for some strange prejudgmental reason. The night turned out great and the content was amazing as she had expected it to be.
They rode home as he drove away but not before they all stopped to admire the setting sun behind the temple, the only thing so far that they had in common. Or so they thought. (dramatic!) ;)
Sometime during the next week a friend of the girl's got hurt while he was nearby and watching. He watched as she helped her friend get some ice and joked with her while she limped around leaning on her friend. He realized that he was attracted to her even though his first instincts had told me to stay away. But maybe they could be friends?
That Friday was the Back to School dance. He decided he would ask her to dance one of the slower songs if he got the chance. Ironically it was one of her favorite songs when he stepped up to her. She couldn't believe that someone she thought hated her had asked her to dance! But he actually made her laugh. He asked if they could come to a truce . . . could they be friends? Just friends (she told him she didn't do the boy+girl stuff and he agreed that he didn't do that either, which surprised her). They had come to a truce.
She was mercilessly teased by her friends but . . . she told them honestly that she didn't feel like THAT about him. The girl realized that other than those first several rude moments that he was actually nice and she really believed that they could be . . . just friends.

So that's the end of my "day dream" okay seriously - don't tease me too much. I HONESTLY do not believe that this will happen. I was just writing something that interested me. Sorry if it was a bit long. :)
Please nobody tease me :) comments of course are always welcome but I don't know if I can stand the teasing. ;)
Have a wonderful day . . . tomorrow! Lots of Love!
